Problem with adding Users

  1. Hi-
I use my WordPress for a college writing class and I am having trouble adding two students as authors. They have both accepted my invitation to the blog... However, in one case it does not show that she has accepted the invitation (I watched her register and accept, so I know she did it), her status is still "waiting" in my Users section. In the other case, he shows as having "accepted" the invitation, but when he logs into WP, he cannot access the blog.

What should I do to help these folks get started?

    Thanks in advance,
    Allison

The blog I need help with is wrtg3020racegenderclass.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,
This thread has been flagged for Staff attention.

  3. Thanks so much!

  4. I'm having the exact same problem with my blog, http://wyndhamcommons.wordpress.com/. I am trying to invite some board members to join. I even created a new Yahoo account for myself and invited the new account. In all cases, the user is invited and accepts the invitation.

When they try to go to the dashboard they get this error:
User gailsaunders60 Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested

You are logged in as "gailsaunders60" and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for "Wyndham Commons". If you are not "gailsaunders60", please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are "gailsaunders60" and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.

    Please help!

  5. My users don't even get that message, it's like the blog doesn't exist for them.

  6. allisoncarrwaechter, what is one of the usernames that was invited but still can't access?

    ellenward, try resending the invitation.

  7. lisasmadja and [email redacted] (both are the same person, I sent the email to her twice and to two different addresses). I have since tried to add a third person and it will not allow me to make them an author, nor will it allow them to access the blog. Doesn't seem to be going well....

  8. Would you please try re-sending their invitations?

  9. I have re-sent the invitations that did not work the first time. I should know today if the new links worked.

  10. I am having the exact same issue with a private blog I set up for our Board members to be added as "editors."

We have followed all the directions posted in WordPress support for adding new users, but those who have accepted the invitation (and activated the account in their email) still do not show up on the user list and are marked, "waiting" on the invitation list.

I am at my wits end because it is already very difficult to get them to go through the invitation process. Please help!
