I tried it, and the Tweet button appeared, but the comments section completely disappeared and my sidebar widgets moved to the bottom of the post. I deactivated it again until it's resolved. I'm using the Coraline theme.

I took a quick look and my best guess is it's something to do with your custom CSS. The tweet button likely shifts the positioning over or has some other effect on your layout that causes the problem you're seeing.
If you revert back to the standard Coraline theme I suspect you won't see this problem. And if you're willing to do some careful CSS investigation I suspect you'll identify where in your CSS the problem is.
Since the Theme Team is out there helping people with custom CSS adjust to Coraline, you may want to post in the thread at the top of this forum for additional assistance.
