Problems Embedding Google Maps HTML

  1. I am trying to embed the google maps html onto my wordpress webpage but it is giving me a "forbidden" error.

I have copied the HTML given by Google maps and pasting it into the HTML section of the wordpress page. When i try to save or publish the page it tells me this:

    "Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/page.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache Server at http://www.am1006.com Port 80"

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

  4. Embedding Google Maps still does not work though. WordPress does not translate the code from google maps to what is needed.

The facility worked a few months back as i have maps already embedded with no problems, but when i try to add new ones. No luck at all.

I just tried it in my test blog and it works. Make sure you paste the embed code in the visual, not the html, editor.

If it still doesn't work, you can probably turn it into the proper shortcode manually. Example:

    <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=31.371289,55.898438&z=4&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=31.371289,55.898438&z=4&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>

Copy the src part of the code (from http to embed), add the querystrings for width and height, enclose in googlemaps shortcode brackets:

    [googlemaps http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=31.371289,55.898438&z=4&output=embed&w=425&h=350]

(In that case paste the result into the html editor.)
