Problems posting to Face book-Have unwanted lines

    I have never had aproblem posting to FB about a week ago I started getting this crazy code showing up when posting

    I tried seeing if it was a recent post or earlier one..I tfried looking on FB to see if there was a problem.. couldnt find anything, I'm clueless on this..

    The blog I need help with is hiphopandpolitics.wordpress.com.

    Afraid you're in the wrong forum and need to be at WordPress.ORG instead. Our software is different.

    HUH? I have a wordpress.com account.. my site isn't on org its hosted by wordpress..does anyone have an idea why this is happening

    Which method are you using to post to Facebook?
    Are you suing Publicize? http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
    Or are you using one of these methods? http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/12/importing-wordpress-com-post-snippets-into-a-facebook-fan-page/ Or are you using another method? Please clarify.

    I haven't used any of those methods.. here's exactly what I'm doing.. I copy the URL
    in this case this is it...

    I post the URL in the link box on FB.I've done this for a couple of years with no problem..the end result starting two weeks ago is the non readable stuff below..

    I tried adding a share button and have gotten the same result..It's happening on two different computers.. not sure what to do and why this is happening.. I have other blogs including one with the same theme and it doesn't happen on them..

    I've the same problem too. I just realized that it's because of some specific themes like Twenty Ten I'm using now.

    When I share a link of any post to facebook some strange text is shown in the link description like:

    This text contains the title of the post Setting+Device+Information+in+MCI, the link justlikeamagic.wordpress.com%2F2010%2F06%2F27%2Fsetting-device-information-....., the post id 25441, and many other information that shouldn't be shown.

    I'm still not clear on whether you are using wordpress Publicize or not. I am however aware that Facebook makes many changes on their end of things. If you are using Publicize, then please report your problems directly to Staff, as we volunteers answering support questions cannot help you.

    If you are not using Publicize then your solution may be found at the Facebook end of things by contacting support there.

    No, no, no, we are not talking about Publicize feature, it works very well. I wish if I had the ability to link it to my facebook page not profile :)

    We are talking about manual publishing. Copying the post link from the address bar, browsing to facebook, and publishing the link there using the Change Status box.

    Facebook is changing things constantly. This is something done by Facebook. I suggest giving them the feedback and simply waiting it out. They will probably tweak it and we'll have a different set of problems next week.

    I know but I tried to re-generate that error many times. Some themes are working well, others generate strange text like this:

    Maybe it's a Facebook problem! I'll try to contact them.

    I'm having the same problem. Just noticed it a few weeks ago...like other users, I'm posting to a Facebook fan page, not a profile, so the publicize option is useless.

    What we're doing is creating a wall post, attaching a link by clicking on the link icon and copying and pasting the the link.

    On June 12th, I put a post up and it worked the way it was supposed to. On June 18th, I started getting the gibberish the others are describing above.
