problems saving new posts

  1. Hi all - this morning I am unable to save my posts: I take the usual steps, but as I click preview, my post turns out empty, only the title is saved, not the text, not the images. Same thing in the autosave and if I try to save the draft: I lost it all once already... I think there might be a wider WP problem, or a glitch in my system...? PLEASE HELP!!!!

The blog I need help with is scrivoxvizio.wordpress.com.

  2. What browser and version are you using?

  3. I am using Mozilla - I am having problems discovering which version... I'll keep looking :-)

  4. I should add that I always used Mozilla Firefox and never encoutered this problem - in addition I am not having any problems with browsing and using other sites (Hotmail, facebook, etc.)

  5. Found it: version 10.0

  6. I must say the one problem I've had for a while now is that the publicize feature hasn't been working, so I can schedule publishing on wordpress, but the post doesn't show up on facebook and "my public" doesn't see I posted something new, unless they are subscribed to the blog. I keep trying to authorize connection, but I always get Error report, please try later. :-( Could it be a Mozzilla Firefox incompatibility in both cases?

  7. There is an issue with wordpress for some users.

To keep this from happening, put in the title for the post, set it as private and then publish it. Then continue and finish the post and when you are ready to have it go live, set it back to public and click "update."

  8. That is great, I'll keep it in mind for the next time!!! This time I saved the post in word, then copied and pasted it in a new post, discarding the empty draft... I also dowloaded version 11... Lots of work this morning, when I was hoping to dedicate myself to some quiet writing... :-) Thanks a lot thesacredpat!

  9. Firefox I've quit using. It keeps crashing my system and every time it does, it tears up my hard drive and I have to go through a repair process. I even tried a fresh install and had the same issue so it went to the trash, never to return to my system. Pity really as I had a couple of add-ons installed in it that I used a lot for web work.

  10. which version were you using?

  11. The latest for Mac, I think it was 10.0.

  12. There is an 11 now, I downloaded it, but you make me fear using it - how long have you been off it, if it doens't trouble you too much to answer all these questions?? It would help me understand which is the horrible version you had trouble with - I don't have any crushing issues, the problems I mentioned are the only ones I experienced, but I wouldn't like to start now! :-)

  13. I dumped it about 5 days ago. It cost me $150 at the Mac store to have them check and diagnose everything to make sure the hard drive was not failing and it wasn't; it was fine. I told them about the issues with FF 10 and they said, "then don't use it."

When Mozilla went to this 6-week release schedule for versions, it seriously went to crap. Since then there has always been something that it wouldn't work with, or where it caused a problem. I think that is one of the reasons they are now losing market share.

I might download and try 11 since web work is much more difficult without it.

  14. Thanks sooo much, I'll chek if 11 solves my publicize issue. Have a lovely day, bye bye

  15. You are welcome and you too.

  16. My post is gone, as well. I finished my epic, started adding categories, and...boom, gone. I try to go back and find the auto-save, because I've been working on this thing for four days. No auto-save either. Of course, you can't talk to WordPress support anymore to find out what the problem is. Is all my work really gone? Or just someplace I can't find it?

You can try this. In your Dashboard view, on the upper right corner, under the “[name]” is a tab labeled “Screen Options.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ Click it. Here is a list o f the screens where the modules can be hidden:
Posts – Post Tags, Categories, Excerpt, Send Trackbacks, Discussion, Comments, Post Slug, Post Author, Post Revisions
Page – Page Attributes, Recommendations, Featured Image, Discussion, Comments, Slug, Author, Revisions
Select those and return to your Dashboard.

Make sure you select Select Post Revisions and Page Revisions those and return to your Dashboard. Then close the tab.

On the left toolbar, click on either “Pages” or “Posts” depending on what type of document are you are trying to restore.

You can look the last autosave for Posts » Post Revisions
You can look in the last autosave for Pages » Page Revisions
