Profiles

  1. How do I look at other users profiles? I've just signed up as I have a family member with a site and all I've asked to do time and time again by the site is to update my profile but I can't seem to look at anyone else's! I'd like to know more about people I'm having discussions with!

  2. Will you please post the URL for your blog starting with http:// or link your username to it? (See below) We need it in order to provide the correct answers. Depending on the blog you are referring to the answer to the same questions can be different ones.

Your User Profile at WordPress.com can be accessed via Users -> My Profile in your dashboard. http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-profile/

You cannot view another person's profile unless or until they create one and do be aware that we do not have to create one at all. Some prefer not to create profiles and choose to have About pages on their blogs instead. Still other choose to do neither.

Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog starting and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

  3. If the family member has the hover card setting enabled when a person leaves a comment on their blog you can click on their avatar (Image) to be taken to their Gravatar Profile.. The same apply's when someone likes a post you can click their avatar that way also...

To look up Peoples gravatar Profiles you would input this url in the address bar
    gravatar.com/wp.com_username_goes_here
so if I use your wp.com username for example the url would be constructed like the following
    gravatar.com/cuprum426

    S^K

  4. @TT

They appear to just have a username I can not find a blog URL associated with the username above...

  5. @sl1k
Hmmm ... maybe this is case of another lost soul who oght to be posting to wordpress.ORG

  6. @TT Maybe not we won't know until they return to the thread...

The OP stated they signed up because a family member has a site. They may have signed up to be a reader of a family members private blog...
