Per directions, I uploaded my pic - then copied the thumnail code (this might be the problem because the directions say to copy the url, but that didn't work to get the picture published on the sidebar). Anyway, I copied the thumbnail code into a text widget. The picture is there - but there is also that symbol for a bad code/picture.
Please advise.

I got tired and in trying to fix it, well you know the rest.
I will try again tomorrow.
You would think that these basic things would be searchable . . .
