Put one page on sidebar and keep the rest on the top.

  1. I want to add just one page from the top of my blog to the sidebar via the page wiget. I have tried putting it on and excluding the rest of the pages which I want to remain on the top, but all the pages come up on the sidebar. I have used the long URLs and the short cut URLs and pasted them in the exclude section like it says. I am using Coraline which has the pages on the top, so maybe I can't do this?!

The blog I need help with is pspenwomen.wordpress.com.

It doesn't say paste URLs, it says paste page IDs. To find the ID number of a page, you go to Pages > All Pages and either a) hover over the page title and check the status/progress bar of your browser, or b) hover over the page title, click Edit and check the address bar of your browser.

But if you only want one page in the sidebar, the easy way isn't excluding all the rest in the Pages widget. The easy way is go to Appearance > Menus, create a menu that will include that page only, then go to Appearance > Widgets and add a Custom Menu widget that will display the menu you created.

  3. That's right. You can't do this. There is no such display option in the Pages widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/pages-widget/ The widget displays links to all the Public pages you publish.

  4. Before I could post about custom menus justpi did. :)
