Many times you can clear up problems by logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies, shutting down your browser and then reopening and logging back in.
If that doesn't clear it for you, please post back here and let us know what browser and version you are using.
Also, where are you copying your material from? If from a word processor you will want to read this http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/
