Question about Upgrading to Premium

  1. I just had a few questions about upgrading to premium. First, if I upgraded and had an actual domain name, would my current domain (exoffenders.wordpress.com) automatically redirect there? Also, how would this affect my search engine rankings.

The second question I had was regarding WordAds. I seem to get around 2k views @ around 850ish visitors lately. Would this be enough to qualify for the WordAds program, or do I need higher traffic?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

The blog I need help with is exoffenders.wordpress.com.

That's exactly what domain mapping does. Read this for a better understanding of the process > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/02/do-i-need-a-domain/

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 - 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What's important during that stage is to be patient.

Note that none of the plans allow you to upload your own themes or plugins. WordPress.com blogs cannot be equipped for eCommerce transactions. If you need a site that requires a custom theme or plugins — e.g., if you want to be able to sell things directly from your site, or if you want to install discussion forums — a self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  5. Thank you so much for this information! You're the best.
