Question on Purchasing Premium WordPress Theme

  1. I am wanting to get the Pretty Young Things WordPress Premium Theme. However, I was wondering, would I be able to change the text in the heading? In other words, instead of it saying "Pretty Young Thing" along the top, could I put in my own title? Thank you so much!

    The blog I need help with is mckenziedesignz.com.

  2. We can chnage our blog title and/or optional tagline at any time here > Settings > General. When you do that your own Blog title and or tagline will appear there.
    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/pretty-young-thing/
    Look at what it states here in that spot on the live demo site > http://prettyyoungthingdemo.wordpress.com/

  3. Thank you! Perfect! Also, I am currently using a free wordpress theme. i am wondering how I can change the color of the links. It naturally has all of the links in green, I would like to change the color. Is there a way to do this? I know it has to do with the css but I don't know where to find my css?

  4. i am wondering how I can change the color of the links.

    Very few themes provide an option for changing links colors without CSS editing. Some provide that option here > Appearance > Theme Options. I don't know which theme you are using as your flog is "private". I will flag this thread so it gets moved to the CSS Forum for you and there you can get help with changing the link color.

  5. In the Twenty Ten theme, you can change the link colors with this CSS:

    a:link {
    	color: #0066cc;
    }
    a:visited {
    	color: #743399;
    }
    a:active,
    a:hover {
    	color: #ff4b33;
    }

    Adjust the color codes to the colors you'd like to use. You can enter a #123456 color code or a color name from the list at http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-color/#svg-color

    If you are working on a WordPress.com blog using a theme other than Twenty Ten, then let us know which theme and your blog URL because the CSS may need to be different depending on the theme.

    Does this template allow for more than one photo to one blog post?
    Does this template offer slideshows instead of posting a number of photos for one blog post?

    Thanks!

  7. Yep. You can add more than one photo to each blog post in pretty much every theme except Monotone or Duotone.

    You can add slideshows to any post, see http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/

    Check out the http://theme.wordpress.com/ site too. There is detailed information about every theme available on WordPress.com.

    This is a CSS forunm thread and all CSS editing it theme specific. The blog linked to your username is not wearing the Twenty Ten theme. It's wearing the Motion theme and yours does not seem to be CSS editing question so this thread will become confused. Please post a new thread of your own by clicking this link > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/support#postform

  9. 1) Yes, all of them do.

    2) Yes, all of them do. Just use the [ slideshow ] shortcode.

    Awesome!! Thanks for such a quick response!
    I use Motion right now. I love the colors, but it's too dark for me, plus the header photo is SO SMALL! Changing the background isn't much of an option because I like the slideshows, but the box has a dark background around the slideshow and wouldn't look right. So I was wondering if the pretty young thing template had a lighter box background for a slideshow. Hard to explain, but when the photo is landscape style (wide) you only see the dark black around the edges of the photo, not too bad. When the photo is a portrait style (tall) you see a lot of black background.
    Check out http://www.amandatapleyphotography.wordpress.com and you will see what I am referring to.
    I would like if at all possible for the actual slideshow box to fade in with the rest of the background so only the picture is showing rather its landscape or portrait style.

    Thanks!! To all of you who replied.

    To TimeThief ... I'm not interested in making the Motion Theme that I am using better by using CSS. I just wrote that to give the other person I was writing back to an idea of what I was trying to say. I kinda have a difficult time explaining things and sometimes showing them something makes it easier.

    I am very interested in the Pretty Young Thing Theme. Thanks anyhow :)

    Have a good day to all of you!

    Another quick question ... For the Pretty Young Thing theme ...

    Can outside wordpress slideshows like from ProWeb Show be used in this template design?

    Thanks!

  13. The slideshow box background is the same color in all themes. You can adjust it with CSS if you purchase the Custom Design upgrade.

    Here's an example that changes the WordPress.com slideshow background to white:

    .slideshow-window {
    background-color: white;
    border: 20px solid white;
    }

    Here's an example setting the background to transparent, but note that it may not workin Internet Explorer so it may not the best option:

    .slideshow-window {
    background-color: transparent;
    border: none;
    }

    To see it work, add one of those code snippets to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page and press the Preview button.

  14. Can outside wordpress slideshows like from ProWeb Show be used in this template design?

    There isn't an option to add ProWeb slideshows, but you can add RockYou and SlideShare slideshows:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/rockyou/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/slideshare/

  15. As for external slideshows, the answer is almost certainly no. If you can find a Flash code rather than an iframe code, you can use the Gigya Shortcode to put it in here, but most of those kinds of codes are stripped out.

  16. Oh, and you can auto embed Flickr slideshows. Just put the Flickr slideshow URL on a line all by itself.

    Wow! You guys are quick with information! I really appreciate all this!

    I'm not very knowledgeable on CSS, but I follow what you are saying above. Especially the transparent part :)

    I checked out Rock you and Slideshare, wasn't too impressed with them. I'll stick to the wordpress slideshows for now with my blog and just use the ProWeb Show for burning DVD's and posting on my website and Facebook.

    Again, Thanks!! Keep up the great work. Wow! Wish customer service was like this in other places I post stuff!!

    Design Simply ...

    If you can embed Flickr slideshows, it's possible to embed ProWeb Show slideshows. They are done online and have an URL that could be used.
    Wouldn't this work?

    With ProWeb Show I have the capabilities to burn to DVD's, LINK, EMBED and SHARE the slideshows.

  19. Probably not. You have a blog right now; try embedding it. My thought is that you'll either have to use the Gigya shortcode or it won't be possible at all.

    Okay, not a problem. Thanks Raincoaster!

  21. It's possible, but not an option provided by WordPress.com. :)
