Question on Themes Preview

  1. When I do a preview on premium themes, I don't see pictures on the posts I have made in the past. Why is that?

And if I were to purchase a premium theme, would I have to adjust all of my old posts so they show up properly?

The blog I need help with is ismailimail.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,

When I do a preview on premium themes, I don't see pictures on the posts I have made in the past. Why is that?

Which themes were you previewing, specifically? Where were the images not showing up -- e.g. on the front page or on single posts? I ask because themes vary in the way that they display images. For example, some themes display thumbnail images on the front page, and some do not.

And if I were to purchase a premium theme, would I have to adjust all of my old posts so they show up properly?

No, you don't need to adjust the old posts. The theme will display your posts automatically. Some themes contain options pages that let you configure how posts display on the front page, but you won't need to edit the posts themselves.

  3. hi, thanks for your reply.

When I do preview on Crisp for example, I see everything fine, the post images are showing up exactly as they currently are on Enterprise theme. But when I do the preview on Delicious Magazine, the post images are not showing up, not even the youtube video (on main page). There are several other premium themes with similar behavior and I was wondering what would it be like if I were to purchase.

So do you confirm that all I will have to do after the purchase is to adjust a theme setting somewhere and my images will show up as the thumbnail on main page with each post (say for example if I were to get Delicious Magazine theme?) Fresh News and Headlines theme don't show images in preview. Lifestyle does (just like Crisp).

  4. Hi there,

As michiecat says, themes vary in the way that they display images. You will need to adjust your images along the way the theme works.

You can get a refund for any premium theme up to 30-days after purchase. Please feel free to try out as many as you'd like. :)

  5. Hi

I don't like the idea of multiple credit card purchases and refunds.

Is there a listing of premium themes suggesting which ones would require adjusting of images on prior posts and which ones does not? Or is there a way to tell? Should I assume that if the images don't show up in Preview than I am looking at adjustments of old posts?

I am considering Delicious for now and would like to find out if I may have to adjust old posts (I have way too many old posts to not even consider that proposition).

    Thanks.

  6. Hi, ismailimail. Themes like Delicious Magazine that use automatic excerpts on the home page won't show images unless, like with Delicious Magazine, you use Featured Images (or add images to a custom excerpt). If images and videos aren't showing up in the preview they won't show up when you activate the theme. So, if you were to activate Delicious magazine and have those images show up on the home page and in your archives you would need to edit those posts and add that Featured Image. (Your images should always show up on the single pages without any editing.)

I hope that helps clear things up!

  7. Hi, thank you, this resolves my long standing question (which I was only able to ask recently). I will drop from my consideration those themes which does not show images on front page as I have significant number of older posts. Thanks.
