   Hi everyone,

   I've been using wordpress.com for a few months now and I want my website http://www.vandiary.com to become self-hosted. I am hoping if someone here with experience transferring websites can answer some questions I have and let me know of things I should watch out for.

   Here are some of the questions I have:

   What is a good hosting website? The main reason I need to transfer my website is my site cannot be viewed by people in China for some unknown reasons. I've heard Bluehost is a decent hosting company, but would I run into the same problem with them?

   Do I need a new domain? Or can I still use vandiary.com?

   If yes, can I transfer all my contents from vandiary.com? Will the links and images from my current website still be working if I move it to a self-hosted wordpress.org site?

   Are there any things I should watch out for?

   1) there are host recommendations over at WordPress.org. The Great Firewall of China is pretty stringent, and constantly changing.

   2) You can use that domain, you'll just have to change where it points.

   3) Yes, you can transfer everything and the internal and external links will work.

   4) well, that's kind of a big question. Double check that your transfer has sent everything over when you do it. Sometimes export files have holes in them.
