   Hello
   I intend to transfer of my blog contents to a new WP.org site and purchase redirect.
   I have four problems/confusions and I would be grateful if someone would explain it to me:

   1/How do I transfer subscribers?

   2/Can I make major reorganizing/restructuring of categories and tags after I exported to the new site? Wouldn't that affect the indexing on search engines? (as I am counting on redirect)

   3/Is there anyway I can maintain/transfer my page rank?

   4/ I would rather not delete the existing blog as I wish to keep it as back up for a while and reactivate it after a few months as a personal archive (once the new site becomes fully functional & gets dedicated admin hired). But how do I keep it updated with contents from the new site?

   1) install the jetpack plugin, then post back here and ask staff to transfer the subscribers for you.

   2) Yes, you can, and yes, it absolutely will effect the indexing.

   3) no, but search engines are smarter than they used to be and they will soon learn you're not a new blog and rank you appropriately.

   4) you would have to do it by manually copy/pasting and making new posts, but it's a better idea to just set it to Private; if search engines see the same content on two different blogs, they'll downgrade both of them as spam.

   One more question:
   Can I redirect danielberhane.com to a subdomain - or, preferably to subdir - on my new website?
   {I meant redirect my current blog to: example.com/daniel or daniel.example.com}

   If the answer is yes, does that change any one your answers to the questions above?
