I have permission to post from another blog onto my blog. Here is the posting that I have permission to copy:

    http://beesandchicks.wordpress.com/2010/04/16/bee-update-%E2%80%94-good-news-bad-news/

I want to post it on my blog, and I can't figure out how to do it. Here's my blog:

    http://frustratedfarmgirl.wordpress.com/

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is frustratedfarmgirl.wordpress.com.

  2. The export function is for moving all contents and cannot be used to move a single post. Yes, it's copy and paste. Alternatively the other blogger could email you a copy of the article.

Are you and the original author aware of the impact and penalty that can result from creating duplicate content? Search engine aim to provide the most relevant content to those who are searching. Creating duplicate content simply pollutes the blogopshere and dilutes the relevance of the search results. Consequently, the blog where the post was originally published and the blog where the content is duplicated can be penalized.

My suggestion is that you post an only an excerpt with proper attribution followed by a "read the full article link" to the original post on the original blog it was published on.

Thanks, timethief. No, I hadn't thought through the implications of re-posting and entire blog entry. Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention. Your recommendation is a great idea.

  4. Ah..I didn't know this! Thank you for the info Timethief. I'll edit my copy-paste post to be just an excerpt.

Still related but a bit different...My post was copy paste by someone without giving credit to me ... I was so furious. Is there another way to prevent this?

My recommendation is the way things are supposed to work so I can't take credit for it. I'm glad I helped you. Happy blogging. :)

There are several things you can to attempt to prevent content theft. As those who thieve are money motivated none are perfect means of prevention. I think these are helpful posts..

  7. Thank you timethief :)

I've already done the 2nd one by attaching my blog address in every picture that I know will be copied. I'll try the 1st link soon.

  8. You're welcome. Note that some of the watermarking sites fo let you do a "bulk" watermarking and other find that very useful.

What I've done a few times is highlight with my mouse the text and pictures that you want and then paste it on your blog. All the html is included too when you do this. So start highlighting and cut & paste running from the top of the page to where it ends. Then past it on your blog.

  10. OOPS! I think you missed this. I believer she already decided to do an excerpt with a read the full article link to the original author on the original blog. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/re-posting-from-another-wordpress-blog?replies=9#post-460204
