I created a blog under an account I shared with someone else, and then deleted the blog as I wanted to move it to my new account and thought that deleting the blog would free up the name. However it's been several months now and the blog name is still not available and is just shown as "deleted" when I visit the blog page. Is there any way to free up this name again?
The blog I need help with is rantingwomble.wordpress.com.
I'm sorry but the answer is "no". Deleted blog URLs are not recycled here. Confirm by reading:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain vis a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
