I've seen related queries, but not quite this one. Ever since the Media Upload re-do, when a reader clicks on an image within a post to enlarge it, he/she gets a page with the image unattached to the post. I finally figured out that if the reader THEN clicks on the image, it will in fact be enlarged, but this may not be all that obvious. I'm aware that these pages have always existed within the Media Library, but I don't see what purpose it serves for the reader. Is there any way to prevent this seemingly confusing intermediate step from happening?
Also, I noticed another WP blogger complaining that clicks on images are now counted as page views. I agree that this doesn't seem useful.
