Reader/Finding Friends will not load

  1. For several days now I have been unable to load Finding Friends. It just spins and spins forever. I've tried going in through the Reader, but that doesn't work either. Any ideas what's wrong?

The blog I need help with is sewville.wordpress.com.

  2. Is your wordpress.com blog connected to twitter, facebook, or google? If so try disconnecting each one until you find the issue. Then reconnect.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If you are not successful let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using and post any error reports you get.

  4. Tried all these and same problem as before - Reader just spins and spins - Stats & Notifications work fine - on Mac OS 10.5.8 with current Firefox 16.0.2

  5. And the same problem happens in Google Chrome and Safari?

Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you're seeing this? You can upload the screenshot in your blog's media library.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  6. Hi, I took the screenshot as requested and put it in my media library. I'm not sure what you can learn from this, but hopefully I can get back to finding friends soon... it's getting lonely out here.
    Thanks!

  7. Thanks for the screenshot.

Could you please try upgrading to Firefox 17 and let me know if that helps?

kardotim asked whether you have the same problem in Google Chrome or Safari, would you let me know?
