Rebranding, vote for new logo

  1. Hey guys,

I'm working on the rebranding of my blog so I have decided to change my logo. I have created two versions for the logo, can you tell me which one is the best? If none of them is good, would you be able to tell me what could be improved? Thank you in advance....

    - Logo current (the one to be changed):

    - Logo version 1

    - Logo version 2

The blog I need help with is jaunehibiscus.wordpress.com.

  2. I prefer the logo you are going to change to the other two. When we use images we are cautious to give them the full treatment for SEO purposes as serch engines cannot "read" images. IMO the first logo will produce a better branding description in the ALT attribute and the Description fields than either of the other two which are images of stylized fonts.

I know that you probably know that branding is not achieved by a logo alone, so if you want more information on branding please click this link and find what else you need to employ http://tinyurl.com/26ds4a6.

  3. Thank you for your answer! I have worked so hard on creating these two new logo and now I have to consider the fact that changing my logo may not be the way to go. However, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "full treatment for SEO purposes". What is the disadvantage of a styled font versus the current avatar in the attribute and secription field?

Yes, I am aware that a new logo is just the tip of the iceberg. The logo is actually just an aspect of my rebranding. I was thinking of repositioning my blog by posting for example more stories, more often and selecting a very specific type of stories. The new logo is just something to be consistent with my overall strategy.

  4. Not an easy one, hisbiscus. Maybe focus more on the blog posts for now? The logo revamp can always be approached more slowly.

  5. Uhm... you guys left me wondering. I created the current logo just right after starting my blog. I just added a random picture (that I modified) thinking that I would change it soon when I would find the time to create a more sophisticated artwok.

Now it's been almost a year and I was thinking it was the right time to change but with your answers I'm wondering what is so good about the current logo? Image recognition? Or is there really something special about my curent logo that I left out while creating the new ones?
