Red exclamation point at top of my blog

  1. What is the red exclamation point at the top of my blog page?
I have three blogs with wordpress. I've had them for varying degrees of time but two over a year. The newest just a few weeks. I've never seen a red box with an exclamation point inside it at the top of my blogs. When I logged in last week, all three had this exclamation point. What is it and should I be concerned about it? thanks

The blog I need help with is thismothersmusings.wordpress.com.

  2. Please post screenshot, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  3. That exclamation point is a new system to remind users to save their two-factor authentication backup codes.

We have temporarily deactivated that reminder, but you may see it pop up in the future. If so, just click on it and follow the instructions.

In the meantime, if you would like to save your codes, you can do this at http://wordpress.com/settings/security/

  4. Bookmarked!

  5. @timethief, this is a new feature that's still be tested and worked on. Once we have the final version activated, we will update our support docs accordingly (and for that matter, you might see the exclamation point yourself if you have two-factor authentication activated!)

  6. @jackiedana
    Thanks for the update.

  7. You're welcome timethief! :)
