   Hi,

   is it somehow possible to define a redirect in a page, e.g. /about redirects to http://www.mydomain.com?

   I don't think so as the pages have hard-coded links, in that we can't alter them.

   However, you could use a simple text widget and place a link in there?

   Not with the setup we have here. Best bet would be to place a link in page and redirect folks that way.
