Redirect from Blogger

  1. I have imported all of my previous posts and pictures from blogger. I need to redirect readers from blogger to wordpress, as I lose viewers every day. How can I do this?

The blog I need help with is coriamendt.wordpress.com.

  2. Publish a post on the Blogger blog with a link to the WordPress.com blog in it.

  3. I have, but I know there is a way to reroute readers automatically when the go to the old site, but I am not sure how..

  4. Do you have your own domain name or is yours a blog URL that ends with .blogspot.com?

  5. If and only if you have your own domain URL, and you would like to use your domain to mp to from your free hosted WordPress.com blog you will first need to purchase a domain mapping upgrade http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/ set up domain mapping. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 - 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What's important during that stage is to be patient.

  6. It ends with blogspot.. So if you don't have your own domain URL? Is it not possible? (Thanks for your help!)

  7. Ask over at blogspot if there are any redirect options - if you leave WordPress.COM you can buy a redirect upgrade to send traffic to your new site if you don't have a custom domain name - you will need to look at blogspot to see if they have the same option

  8. Good suggestion - wil do. Thanks!

  9. If the URL ends in .blogspot.com then you have reached a dead end.
