Redirect from one WordPress.com blog to another WordPress.com blog

  1. I have two wordpress.com blogs, both with custom domains that I registered and purchased through WordPress.com. I have combined the content of the two blogs into one of the blogs, and I want the old blog to redirect to the new one.

I have looked everywhere on the support site and the forums for instructions on how to do this, and I can't figure it out. It seems that if you register a domain using a third-party registrar like GoDaddy, it's easy to redirect (I already did this for one of my URLs). But if the domain was registered via WordPress.com, you can't redirect to another WordPress.com blog with a custom domain. Is that right?

I tried logging into the Domain Manager, but the option for "I want to forward my domains" shown here (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/) was not visible to me.

I also contacted support directly but have not heard back.

The blogs I want to redirect are:
    from: mitroffmanagement.com
    to: mitroff.net

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is mitroffmanagement.com.

  2. The best way to do this would be to purchase a Site Redirect upgrade on the blog you intend to redirect, then enter the domain that you want it to point to.

This will redirect both requests to the old domain and the WordPress.com blog URL.

  3. Wow, thanks, that worked and it's done!

I just did not find anything about this being an upgrade I could purchase when I searched the support site. I thought it was something that had to be set from within the Domain Manager.

    Thank you Macmanx!

  4. You're welcome!
