Redirecting traffic on search engines to new blog address

  1. I changed the address of my wordpress.com blog. However, my search hits on Google is still linked to the old wordpress.com address, which now when readers click on it, it says that they may have clicked a wrong page or that the content does not exist (all my posts and content are in the new blog address already). How can I divert traffic to my new blog address on search engines instead?

  2. Perhaps you didn't read this carefully:

    7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.
