Reduce the number of posts in main page

    How can i display only 3 or 5 posts in the main page? Now it appears all posts (11) i have written in the same main page and it makes the blog too long for readers.

    The blog I need help with is elitecardetailpt.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,
    Infinite scroll is enabled on your blog. You can disable it on this page > Settings > Reading and set the number of post you wish to appear on the front page of the blog.

    Look for:
    Blog pages show at most ____ posts
    enter the number of posts you want to display

    scroll down to:
    To infinity and beyond ___ Scroll Infinitely
    (Shows 7 posts on each load)
    remove the checkmark

    scroll down and click "save changes"

    Disabling the infinite scroll feature to get rid of the pop-up in the footer results in a "Load More Posts" tab, and you can't disable that "Load More Posts" tab from appearing and have "previous post" and "next post" links, without the Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

    Timethief, or others: is "infinity and beyond" feature only available for certain themes? I have two blogs and it shows on one of them but not the other

    Yes. it's only implemented on some themes at this time. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/infinite-scroll/ Staff have been introducing “infinite scroll" to themes — a site wide change that will be applied to all themes that are suitable for the implementation.

    The question was reposted as its own question because no answer was originally given here. But we shall continue it here.

    Yes, the site is private right now. It's still under construction. I thought the theme may be an issue. The theme I'm using is Mystique.

    Mystique doesn't support infinite scrolling. (Yet?)
