Refund for domain

  1. Hello, I heard WordPress was an easy sight to use but I've already had like a mental breakdown trying to figure it out. I want a refund for buying a domain, and I also want to permanently delete my WordPress account.

The blog I need help with is choseninstruments.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,
    See here please http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds

Username accounts are not deleted at WordPress.com and no exceptions are made for any reason http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ but please note the following:

    1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.

    2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
    http://wordpress.com/#!/following/subsettings/

    3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
    http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html

  3. You've been here only an hour and this is your first post in the forums asking for help.

Did you have a look at http://learn.wordpress.com/ a great tutorial for newbies to WordPress.com, and the Support docs on getting started on setting up your domain? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  4. Hi tconstantz,

I see that you've self–refunded the domain mapping upgrade, and you should see it in your credit card statement within 7–10 business days.
