Remove ad that appears when scrolling

How do I remove the WordPress ad that appears when users scroll down the screen? I am paying for a Premium upgrade and should not be seeing any ads.

The blog I need help with is halfaprediction.com.

  2. That is the footer credits, they are required - you can not use Infinite Scroll if you want - but remove the footer and your blog is suspended

    Current Terms of Service:

    11. Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased.

The current policy about the footer in the support documentation:

May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit.

Thanks. Love the euphemism -- since when is an advertisement called a "credit"? An ad is an ad, it's an ugly thing that clutters up a pretty blog.

  4. Infinite Scroll is sort of ugly on many themes - that is part of why I don't use it now -

The footer credit is also required for the VIP sites, they start at $ 30.000/ year.

But you probably have credits for yourself on your blog - would you like WordPress.COM to strip your credit so you did not get credit for your work?

Also remember that your hosting here is free, the footer credits are part of the price of free hosting

My hosting is not free. I'm paying $100 a year for this service. And the idea that people wouldn't know it's a WordPress blog without an obnoxious ad is laughable. There's a credit at the bottom of all the blogs regardless. It doesn't have to scroll along, though.

  6. No you are not paying for hosting - there are 6 or 8 items in the $ 99.-- package - none of them are hosting - you are paying for services on top of the free hosting -

And while I don't agree with all that happens here, I moved my site from a .ORG install to here, been mostly happy - but in the end it's their sandbox and their rules
