remove comments section and posting format

  1. I am trying to remove the comments section. I am having trouble doing this. Help Please. I also want to have the pages static and not do postings.

The blog I need help with is littlebalena.wordpress.com.

  2. This page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/

Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

  3. Strictly speaking a blog is a website but let’s differentiate. The main difference between a blog structure and website structure is the communication style. Blogs are post based structures that provide for and encourage interactive communication. Websites are page based structures that operate as a one-way noticeboards.

A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based structure can be retained.

  4. Thanks. It is still not working though. I have the ever after theme and there is no discussion module. Also I use the screen options and unclick the comments section and it doesn't work. I am still unsure what to do.

  5. Are you logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog in question and who is the original Admin of the blog?

Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Did you remove the checkmark from both of these?
    allow comments
    allow pingbacks

  6. You go to Pages > All Pages, hover over the page title, click Quick Edit, uncheck the option "Allow Comments", click Update. That's all.
