Remove image from random header rotation without deleting image?

  1. I have an image I'd like to remove from the random header rotation. I know I could delete the image from the media library, but I don't want to do this, because the image is being used as a featured header on some pages. Is there a way to remove the image from the random header rotation without actually deleting the file?

    Thanks for any insights ...

The blog I need help with is mossyoldtroll.wordpress.com.

  2. Aside from deleting the image from your Media Library there is no other way I know of to do this. I tagged this thread for Staff attention because I too have been in the same "pickle" and I'm sure many other bloggers have been too.

  3. Thanks for tagging the thread. Hope something comes of it.

One solution would be to upload a second copy of the same image with a slightly different file name.

Re-add the new copy of the image to the posts where you need it as a featured image.

Through the Media Library, remove the original image that you don't want used as a random header.

Let me know if this would work.
