Remove 'meta' links

  1. I want to remove the register/login links from my blog, is something i would have to be a paid member to do?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is cnnryng.wordpress.com.

  2. No. It's a widget. All widgets are installed and/or removed here >. Appearance > Widgets
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/meta-widget/

P.S. If the reason you are removing it is because you think it provides access to your blog to other people you are wrong.

  3. Yikes! I just realized this thread is in the CSS Forum. I'm sorry. Please wait for another Volunteer who helps with CSS editing to help you.

  4. Thanks for the reply, no i didn't think it would provide access to anyone else, I just find it distracting and cluttering!

Also the "meta" widget is listed under "available widgets" instead of "sidebar" so doesnt that mean it should be removed already?

And truth be told I posted in the CSS forum because I was confused about where It should go!

  5. Also the "meta" widget is listed under "available widgets" instead of "sidebar" so doesnt that mean it should be removed already?

    No. See here:

  6. You can try changing the theme as its not the normal behavior of wordpress.

  7. @designskew: It's absolutely "normal behavior". Read the post I linked to, please.

  8. Ahh thankyou justpi that worked perfectly!

Would anyone happen to know how to remove the sidebar altogether? The theme is listed as one OR two columns and there are pixel widths for a "full width layout" but i can't figure out how to change it?

  9. You're welcome.
http://cnnryng.wordpress.com has no sidebar. Which blog are you talking about?

  10. @justpi Oh Yes, I know that, but I thought he must have tried putting the widgets and without adding the meta widgets, he was seeing the meta links.

  11. You can't remove the sidebar in Forever without the Custom Design upgrade. The "full width" option refers to static pages only.

If this is important to you, you can try a different theme. See here, under "Sidebar optional" and "Bottom and/or header only":

  12. Okay, your help was much appreciated!

When you link your username to your free hosted wordpress.com blog and start providing substantive and accurate answers into support thread, than I'll stop thinking you are probably only posting only to attract traffic to the site linked to your usename.
