remove "this wordpress site is the bee's knees"

  1. How do I remove the banner that says "this wordpress site is the bee's knees"?

The blog I need help with is ufhobituaries.wordpress.com.

  2. If the blog you're referring to is the one linked to your name, then I don't see a banner saying that. Maybe it's an ad? If so, WordPress.com put ads on our blogs that can only be seen by people with no wordpress.com blog or people who do but are logged out. If it is an ad, you can only get rid of it with a no-ads upgrade.

If the banner is something else, you'll have to be clearer.

  3. I likewise do not see such a banner on the blog linked to your username. If you are referring to a Tagline you will find that you can change it on this page at any time along with the Blog Title > Settings > General but do note that not all themes have Taglines coded into them.

If you are referring to another blog then please post the URL so it can be located as all CSS editing is theme specific.

  4. I'm sure it was the tagline. :)

Yes and I think it was the Origin theme that's being reffered to.

  6. We're trying out some randomized taglines that are a bit more fun.

New blogs that don't setup a customized tagline during signup will get one of the new random ones, and they can always still update them from the Settings → General page just like always.

    Thanks for the update. :)

  8. Sure! Maybe it will help people learn more about updating their taglines so there aren't sooo many "Just another WordPress.com site" ones. :)

I see this comment to, an we paid for the upgrade, so there should not be any ads on our wordpress theme. How do I remove it?

  11. What upgrade did you buy?

What ads are you talking about?

  12. A tagline is not an ad, it's a setting which you can update from the main settings page in your blog dashboard.

We purchased the upgrade in WordPress to allow videos and no ads. What reads at the top of each page is this:

    "brasscannonbooks
This WordPress.com site is the bee's knees"

I do not want the 'This WordPress.com site is bee's knees."

I have looked at the dash board, and I am not able to remove it.

  14. Go here > Dashboard > Settings > General and delete the Tagline or replace it with one of your own. Then click "save changes".
