rashworthI'd like to remove the time/date stamp from the Twenty Ten theme and can't seem to find out how. I'm not all that savvy so any help would be much appreciated!

You can't do that without the paid CSS upgrade. What you can do is write your welcome notice as a page, not a post, and set your blog front to display that page instead of posts. See here:
