Remove widgets

  1. Hi!
I have trouble removing "Bloggroll" and "Meta" from the sidebar. Do anybody know how I can remove it? (I'm using the Oxygen theme).

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is sambaws.wordpress.com.

  2. When you haven't added any widgets yourself, the theme displays a default set of sidebar items. So, to remove those widgets you add the ones you prefer (in Appearance > Widgets > Secondary Sidebar).
If you mean remove the whole sidebar, that's not possible without the Custom Design upgrade.

By the way, you should rethink your bg. The theme is horizontally centered in relation to the browser window, so the amount of bg space left and right depends on the viewer's screen resolution (drag the browser window to make it narrower and see what happens). Your idea will work only for visitors who have very high resolution screens. A visitor with a 1344px wide screen (that's already above average) will see this much of your bg image:

A visitor with a 1280px wide screen will see this much of it:

On lower resolution screens there will be none of it (and on mobile devices one will see a little bit of your trousers below the theme).
