Removing Secondary Widget Area to use Space

  1. I am currently using the Oxygen theme and I love it, but I feel like the space is not used to the best of its ability. I have used the CSS to remove the secondary widgets (meta, blogroll, etc.) on the right side. What I really want is for my recent articles on my home page to take up that available space. If I select a post, it uses that entire space, why can't my front page? I don't want to use a widget there to take up the blank space because that interferes with the space available for the actual posts. If the widget bar is used, the post looks scrunched. Thank you for the help!

  3. I checked http://liberatedtraveler.com/ and I see it is currently using the Ideation and Intent theme.
