Removing Title

  1. How do I remove the title from a static front page? I have the custom design upgrade but don't have a clue about CSS coding - can anyone help?

    I'm trying to remove it from my front page of getdressednj.com

    Thanks so much!!!

    The blog I need help with is getdressednj.com.

  2. Hi there. To hide a specific "element" (HTML tag) on your page, you need to find it's CSS "selector." This is usually an id or class on the HTML tag itself, but you can also narrow it down by a "parent" selector (that is, an HTML element that surrounds the element you want to select). Very often, you can look at the class of the <body> tag to narrow down to a specific page/post type.

    You can find these selectors by viewing the HTML source of your page. (You can also use an "inspector" such as the one built in to Chrome; In the case of Chrome, you can just right click on what you want to change and click "Inspect Element.")

    For instance, if you want to hide the page title on all pages, you can use the following CSS code:

    .page .entry-title {
        display: none;
    }

    In this case ".page" indicated the body class of "page" (we only want to do this for pages, not blog posts, etc.) ".entry-title" is the class of the <h1> tag that we are trying to hide.

    If we want to hide it on a specific page, we just need to find the body class that is specific to that page. In the case of your home page, this is "page-id-16," so we would use this code instead:

    .page-id-16 .entry-title {
        display: none;
    }

    CSS is a great way to customize the look of your page. I'd suggest you take a look at the CSS Basics support article to learn a little more about how to use it:
