Repeat Traffic Tracker?

  1. Would it be within the realm of possibility to alter the hit tracker to compare a visitor against past visitors to see how much of a day's traffic is repeat and how much is new that day?

  2. I know that staff get this info, but that the individual bloggers do not. It's theoretically possible to do it, and I'm sure it would be popular (stats are always popular).

  3. My advice is to put a ClusterMap (or a similar service) on your blog, it will provide general info about the location of your visitors and also give you a daily unique visitor count.

  4. Actually I don't believe we track this info at all. We're pushing 30 million page views per day - think about the number of rows we'd have to store in a database and you'll see why.

  5. I know you don't track it, but you do receive it. I wonder, would it be possible to push the info out to the bloggers, maybe via RSS? That way you won't have to store it.

  6. We don't record that information at all. Keeping it even for a brief period would mean at least an order of magnitude more data and load on the stats system. It'd be a nice feature to have, but not nearly nice enough by itself to justify the resources required.

  7. I have something that can help you identify Twitter visitors and its free,if interested in it you may contact me via e-mail or leave a comment on my blog.
