Replying To A Post

  1. Hey everyone. I am fairly new to WordPress and am setting up my blog. Is it possible to reply to a post and make it nested? I want to post something, and then I want to be able to post a nested reply. Is this possible? Thanks.

  2. No, nested comments are not possible here at wordpress.com.

  3. So I can not post a reply to a topic? If I can't, can I order the posts on my page?

  4. Posts appear on the main blog page by date. When you click on the comments link, or the title of one of the posts, you are taken to the single-post page where you can make comments on that particular post. The comments will appear in chronological order from the oldest to the newest. If you wish to reply to a specific comment, you can either address your comment to their user name, or you can do as some people do and actually open their comment for editing and add your reply to the bottom of their comment and make yours either in italics or bold so that it will visually separate them.

  5. You can re-order comments by changing the datestamp, but what most people do is just address their comments personally, like

    @asktechgeek blahblahblah

  6. I don't think you get it. I want to be able to re order the posts , not the comments.

  7. You can re-order posts by changing the datestamp.

  8. It's hard to understand your question from the way you've been wording it. I thought the answers given before mine answered your question. However, WordPress does have a feature called Page Categories that would allow you some structure to the way in which the posts to your blog are made. There is a lot here in the forum about Categories. It can be a bit confusing, because there are also Link Categories. In your Dashboard, you access Categories under the Manage tab.
