Request Transfer of Followers

  1. Request transfer of followers from: http://thetarnishedbadge.wordpress.com/

    To:
    http://thetarnishedbadge.central-us.net/wordpress/

Jetpack is installed on the remote and linked.

The blog I need help with is thetarnishedbadge.central-us.net.

  2. The blog you specified at thetarnishedbadge.central-us.net does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don't understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It'll help people to answer your question.

    This is an automated message.

  3. I'll flag this for staff as you've got jetpack.

  4. Howdy, I have moved over all your WordPress.com subscribers as requested. Happy blogging!

  5. OK, Thanks.

Now help me understand this. Apparently This is something new to be able to move the Reader followers in addition to any eMail followers.

Do new posts now appear in the Reader of previous Followers?

If so, they do not appear in the general Reader to non-followers, correct?

You can view all your subscribers in your Site Stats. Go to the Site State page and click on the link at the bottom under 'Followers' to see all your blog/comment followers.

I can't see that either. That whole 'Followers' section that appears for .com sites does not appear for the linked .org site on the common Stats page.

  7. Do new posts now appear in the Reader of previous Followers?

Yes, new posts continue to appear in the Reader for anyone who followed your old WordPress.com blog.

If so, they do not appear in the general Reader to non-followers, correct?

Right, once you move away from WordPress.com, you are no longer part of the Topics (or Global Tags, as they used to be known).

  8. I can't see that either. That whole 'Followers' section that appears for .com sites does not appear for the linked .org site on the common Stats page.

This is expected, the Followers module doesn't appear on WordPress.com Stats, but you'll be able to see your WordPress.com followers and email subscribers if you check Jetpack > Site Stats > My Followers on the new (self-hosted) WordPress site. If you are not seeing them on in your Jetpack dashboard, could you please upload a screenshot of what you do see? Thanks in advance!
