reset password doesn't work

  1. I am having an issue with a different blog, proxyhinsdale.com. I was unsuccessfully logging in to this blog, and ended up having the password reset link sent to my email. I went through the steps to reset my password, and successfully (or so wordpress tells me) reset my password. I am then instructed to login with my new password. However, when I do so, the new password doesn't work. Please help, I have done this multiple times, and each new password does not work.

  2. You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don't understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It'll help people to answer your question.

    This is an automated message.

  3. The blog I am having an issue logging into is proxyhinsdale.com.

I am able to successfully reset my password, but I still cannot login after resetting.

  4. Hi,

proxyhinsdale.com isn't hosted on WordPress.com, so we're unable to help. There are two "flavors" of WordPress. WordPress.com, this site, which offers a fully-hosted solution and WordPress.org, which is a self-hosted version that folks can run on your own server that has a separate user database than here at WordPress.com.

Be sure to ensure you're logging in with the current user name as the typical WordPress.org install does not allow you to login using an e-mail address.

For more details about the difference, check out WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

For further help, please try the WordPress.org support forums at http://wordpress.org/support or contact your hosting provider.

  5. thank you.
