   I want to be able to show the whole picture I used for my header photo, but the programmed size is very long and narrow. I have to over-crop my photo to get it to work. Can the program be modified to accomodate the full size of my picture? I do like the long and narrow look, but if I could increase the height of the pic, it would look better.

   You can use CSS to completely change out the built in theme header with a custom one that you add. To do it, first you need to upload a header image of the size you want to your Appearance → Header page.

   Next, you would add some CSS to hide the current header image in your theme and replace it with a different image that you upload to your media library. Here is an example that will work in the Chateau theme:

   #main-image a img {
   display: none;
   }
   
   #main-image a {
   display: block;
   width: YOUR_IMAGE_WIDTH;
   height: YOUR_IMAGE_HEIGHT;
   background: url(YOUR_IMAGE_URL) no-repeat;
   }

   Replace YOUR_IMAGE_WIDTH and YOUR_IMAGE_HEIGHT with your uploaded image width and height. Replace YOUR_IMAGE_URL with the image you uploaded to your media library.
