   I have just setup a very simple blog to let people know about my business, some marketing tips, service providers I run across, and interesting examples of marketing done by companies online and offline - Basically, people can get a snippet of info from me, and then go see the other blog, or website, or product I was talking about. I have a few preferred services or software tools I use and would like to recommend them.

   What I am now worried about - after having planned and started this wordpress.com blog - is that I may be in violation of the Advertising TOS ... Confused and worried I will be shutdown - but I am not completely clear on the TOS as it's explained and have found conflicting forum posts

   Can you please review my site to let me know if it is in violation of TOS and whether I should export it to my own WordPress installation on my own servers? THANKS

   I'd say your blog is in violation of the TOS. Affiliate links are not allowed on a free WordPress.com blog.

   You are absolutely in violation of the ToS. You've got a big blinking ad in your sidebar, for god's sake.

   There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/

   Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com
