Reverse order

  1. I've tried getting help from support through email but no one answers. I have a bit of a problem. When one goes to the site which is less of a blog than access to a recently published article, Part Two shows up instead of Part One. How can I change this order. Many thanks.

The blog I need help with is mertonocso.wordpress.com.

  2. We need a link to the blog you are talking about. The one linked to your username has been deleted.

  3. http://mertonocso.wordpress.com/

Excuse the mistake.I hope this is correct.

  4. The order that posts are displayed on in blogs is reverse chronological order with the most recent published post on top.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/

Regular readers of your blog come repeatedly to see what new articles you have published. So you want your most recent post on top; readers won't like to have to scroll to the bottom of all your posts to see the latest news.

  5. Will there be more parts to this story, such as 3, 4 and 5 or just the two? If so, there are some change that you can make to things that will make it a little easier for people to get to things in order.

If there are just going to be a few parts to this story, what you can do is to change the published date on the posts so that they will appear in the correct order. This support document explains how to change the date or time.

If there will be many in this series, or if you are going to have several series, you might want to take a look at this support document.

You can keep the series' separated by making categories for each series. Also with the theme you are using you can put categories in the top menu by utilizing the custom menu feature and then you can put the different parts under that category as children. You might also want to include a link at the bottom of each part to the next part, or perhaps to all parts.

  6. I am not planning to add anything to this posting. It is really not a blog at all just a web copy of the article in order to get a greater audience. I thought breaking it up into two parts would make for easier reading. A viewer could read Part 1, come back later and more readily find where he/she left off and start on Part 2 . Perhaps I should just make it one post and forget the split though I still rather have Part 1 ahead of Part 2. Could I do that?

Thanks so much for your good information and time.

  7. I would suggest changing the dates so that they are in the correct order (you would only have to change the date on part one so that it is published "after" part 2 (and will appear above it). That would be the easiest, and I agree, it is a good idea to have it in two parts, for the reasons you mention.

I've bookmarked it and will be going back to read it when I catch my breath later today.

  8. That is perfect. Thanks so much. I am not at all adept at this kind of stuff but with your help, it's so much easier.

Just two last things (I will not bother you further after this last request). I would like to make the pictures somewhat bigger. I imagine this must have something to do with cropping but I can't figure out how to do it.

Also later on I'd like to add some Gregorian Chant music to the site. How to?

In Italian we say 'mille grazie', many thanks.

  9. No need to answer the two questions above. I figured out the first and gave up on the second.

Thanks for all your help once again.
