Reverting Gallery Updates? (Contempt Theme)

    Hi All,

    My website (www.manxelectricrailway.wordpress.com) currently uses the 'Contempt' theme which i've had in place since I started the site in mid 2010. I use the 'gallery' feature quite extensively on the site, and this has undergone two updates which have drastically altered it's operation.

    The initial way it worked was more than perfect for the site, however the two latest 'carousel' style modifications aren't as well suited for what I want them to do...

    Is it possible to get a plug in to revert to the old Gallery styles prior to their updating? If so, how do I go about it?

    There is not FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install plugins. The way galleries and the carousel function is being changed for all of us.
