I had the Matala theme active, and i loved it. Then i decided to try changeing the background color. It messed up the whole theme. How can i revert back to the original Matala?

no. I just deleted the blog and remade it.

There are several threads on this now. This is the bottom line. You go to > Appearance > Background and you remove any image background or colored background you set there. Note that now you can only select one or the other ie. a custom image background or a color background but not both.
