   I was wondering if it is possible to roll back my wordpress version to the previous version . The bugs and performance issues have outweighed and perceived benefits of new functionality and UI and I would like to revert back to the old version.

   Sounds like you have a self-hosted blog. If so, you're in the wrong forum. Head over to http://wordpress.org/support

   No mine is hosted on wordpress.com. At my current employer often people prefer previous releases so we can roll back their instance. Essentially that is what I would like.

   Well, if you are on WP.com, you can't roll back to the previous version. We don't have that kind of control here.

   If you're off WP.com and using an independent blog, nothing prevents you from running an older version of WordPress software, so you can have any dashboard style you like.
