  1. After living in the Republic of Georgia for a year, yesterday suddenly I began to get a Russian message when trying to access my blog. According to google translate the message is:

Obviously the Republic of Georgia is not Russia. What is going on? And how do I access my blog moving forward? Any help?

The blog I need help with is betsyisbeginningnow.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there !

It is indeed a weird problem ! My bet is that your ISP may use russian servers that do block websites.

Can you try to access your site through a VPN ? Per example http://freevpn.me ?

  3. I suggest you contact your internet service provider and ask that WordPress.com be whitelisted. Additionally, you could use a proxy service like TOR or a VPN to disguise where your actual destination is.

  4. @raincoaster

I don't normally use VPNs, do you have recommendations if you used them ?

  5. I yesterday answered a thread by a blogger from Armenia having the same problem.

  6. Interesting about Armenia. I do use a VPN occasionally. I guess I'll just start using it for my blog as well. Thanks for your help!

  7. You can use a free software we call freegate in China. If you need it, I can send it to you. Opening this software, you will easily access wordpress.

  8. Thanks for letting us know. I'm sorry you're having these issues, and I'll look into this for you. I'll let you know if I have any additional information.
