Same wordpress setup on different host

  1. I'm currently moving my wordpress blog to my domain/host. Is there anywhere information about what plugins etc. are installed on a standard blog on wordpress.com?

After some research I've only found and installed the plugins "Akismet", "WordPress XML Export" and "Sidebar Widget". But I want also other features like picture in the profile that is displayed next to my comments, the blogroll management and so on. I've already tried "Add user Photo", "Gravatars" and "image2posts".

Forgive me if I'm asking something that has been asked a milion times or if I'm posting in the wrong forum but I'm tired of searching.

Thank you very much for your help.

  2. Unfortunately most of the code at wp.com is either custom written or MU specific. You can imitate some of the functionality with Gravatars which you've already seen.

Blogroll management is basically the same with the download version and there's a plugin you can get for XML exports. I can't remember right now what it's called.

I don't know what image2posts does so can't advise on that.

Sidebar widgets are dependent on the theme you're using. If the functionality isn't there already the plugin/code is available from automattic.com.

I hope this helps in some way, you should really be asking over at http://www.wordpress.org as they are the experts on the download version of the software.

  3. Thank you very much for the information. I will ask over there.

  4. for adding images to posts, i use buddycards, because it pulls people's flickr photos, rather than requiring them to sign up for another profile with another avatar.
more info on the buddycards system

  5. Just for reference, I use Comvatars on my WPMu install. It won't do flickr though.
