"Search blog" should include pages

    The blog search option does currently not include the pages, only posts.

    Eg. my blog is about studying in Australia, and I have created a "tips" page with practical info relevant to people who consider studying in Australia. This info source does not show up in a blog search.

    The search option would be much more useful if it included pages as well!

    Official response has been that Pages sit outside of Posts and are not included by design. The same way that Pages don't get categories nor date time stamps. One of the major concepts of WordPress actually...

    Best bet would be to submit your suggestion via feedback but gotta admit that I don't see it happening.

    another suggestion would be to have the page with a title that basically tells what it's about, so if readers are searching for such information they can tell by the title that it may be what they're searching for.

    There is a plugin that does this for wordpress.org sites (sites hosted off of wordpress.com.)

    It really makes no sense to not have pages searchable.

    Pages are part of the site. Why exclude them from search results?

    Yeah, I don't get this either... what's the explanation for not including pages in search? The pages are part of the site, right?

    I did read it... I'm asking what the logic is behind excluding pages from searches... It's totally illogical... that's all...

    That's the logic as to why they're not included. They sit outside of the posts so they're not included.
