search engine description is wrong

    I've noticed that when I search for my blog on a search engine that in the description before my it goes onto my actual description that it says: A gleeful account of the escapades of two 20-somethings, our dogs and a little house in Austin. I've changed themes and it is still happening, how can I change this?

    The blog I need help with is dashofstardust.wordpress.com.

  2. It will take time before Google and other search engines reflect the change and we cannot help with that here. All search engine issues are between the blogger and the search engine. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/

  3. What the search engines pick up for a description/snippet is sort of up to them, and sometimes that might not be what you intended. As they index and as you create more content, they will most likely update that. One of the things that you can do to increase the likelihood that they pick up what you want is to go to settings > general and put what you want them to pick up into the tagline/site description field. There is still no guarantee they will pick it up, but there is a higher chance.

    Good morning!

    @silversnowdrop
    The highest change of getting what you want displayed by Google in terms of on effective keyword rich Title and Tagline is character count sensitive.

    A gleeful account of the escapades of two 20-somethings, our dogs and a little house in Austin.

    That's a 95 character inclusive of spaces Tagline (sans Site Title. See here and note the third bullet point. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/ and avoid creating a lengthy tagline.
