I noticed today that "Category Search" is still shown on my blog, but the widget just above, "Search", is gone. Moreover, when I went to the widget page to add it back, I discovered that it's missing there as well.
Is WordPress abandoning the Search widget? Surely not. What's going on?
The blog I need help with is leisureguy.wordpress.com.
I loaded my test blog with the Ocadia theme and had the same result you report. There is no search widget here > Appearance > Widgets
That means you will have to contact Staff on Monday using this link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
I'll also flag this thread for Staff attention.
I have the same problem.
You are using the same theme ie. Ocadia. As there are two of you may I suggest you contact Staff and find out what's going on with the search widget disappearance from that theme. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
